It's time to experiment.
What if you were asked to lead church this Sunday?
But seriously. If it was up to you, how would you run this place? This service, this event, this organization, this building we call church? If you weren't scared, and had zero self-doubt, what would you dream of doing with it all? How would you creatively use the space, the sound, the elements that so many Christians across the globe use to gather with one another in the name of Jesus? Your week would look very different if your pastor called you on Tuesday and said "You're up this Sunday!" Dream about what you would do...who you would put in charge of what, what out of the box ideas you might try, and what fun you might have... all in the name of growing towards Jesus?
Think Like a Spirit-filled Scientist :)
Put your lab coat on and grab a kid's hand or someone else you know. Invite them to your table. Do something simple. Dream of how you might share communion with one another. How will you tell the story? What elements will you have? Envision what would happen if someone in your family brought a song that meant something to them for worship this week. Gather some neighbors for brunch with meaning. Imagine a place where you all get to contribute something, even if it's small. It still matters. And even if your experiment blows up in your face, well, the lab is open next week.
See the Spirit is not afraid of our failures. He welcomed children in all their chaos and blue collar folks in all their lack of education. The Spirit is ready to be leaned on by weak people who are willing to take a risk, and together build a relationship with the best Helper we have.
The Lab exists to let you to try... try something new in the way you practice your faith. Create simple but meaningful connections with other believers and also those who don't believe.
How to Start/Details
Sign up to join a cohort to get started! Cohorts may be really small or larger groups.
Cohorts meet once/wk for 2.5 hours (teaching, discussion, + lab time), for 6 weeks
Cohorts can be in person or virtual (in person is strongly encouraged)
Small, practical assignments will be given in between weekly meeting times. These typically take no more than 30 minutes to complete.
The cohort culminates with you starting a micro gathering, tiny movement, or something else we help you come up with ;) You will continue to have guidance after the cohort ends and be part of our network of little labs!
Alternatively, Little Labs can come to your church or home and help "bring a lab" to you directly.
All training is provided on a suggested donation basis. If you can't give, that's ok!
